Daniel E. Perrotti is an economist with over 20 years of experience in academia, public policy, and international development. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Buenos Aires, earned a Master’s degree from the University of CEMA, and completed a Ph.D. with Cum Laude honors at the University of Alcalá, Spain, focusing on infrastructure investment and economic growth.
Daniel has worked at Argentina’s National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) and BBVA Research, where he specialized in economic forecasts and analysis. He currently serves as an economist at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Washington, D.C., focusing on trade, finance, and economic development. Previously, he held several roles at ECLAC’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile.
He is also an Associate Professor (currently on leave) at the University of Buenos Aires, where he taught Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Energy Economics. With over 50 professional publications, his research spans economic development, infrastructure, growth, index theory, economic cycles, and global trade.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys reading literature, participating in sports, and exploring new cultures.
